Sprinkled scattershot throughout AustinMama
you'll find Penny
Van Horn's electric babies:
roughly hewn images, wood-carved energy,
kinetic fragments of life, seemingly whittled in
black-and-white scritch-scratch, like some folk
art on acid.  Penny is yet another talented local
contributor to whom we owe tremendous gratitude.
We are proud to have her work as part of
AustinMama.

Penny's Bio:

"I am a cartoonist and illustrator and, so far, have
primarily worked in scratchboard, linoleum and
wood block.  Having recently bought a computer,
I look forward to working in color.  Originally from
Rye, New York, I moved to Austin, Texas in 1984
and have been here ever since.  I began drawing
comics at that time, inspired by some comics in the
back of National Lampoon."

Penny's work has been featured in Weirdo, Snake
Eyes, Twisted Sisters
